Fox Sports’ Bill Simmons is back on Fox Sports 1 after a four-month absence following the birth of his second child.
The former ESPN personality joins Bill Simmons & Co. for a special pre-game edition of “Fox Sports 1.”
The show kicks off with a look at the Steelers as the surprise team of the season.
“The Steelers, and the rest of the AFC, have been consistently underrated all year,” Simmons says.
“When the season starts, they’re going to be the No. 1 seed in the AFC.”
He says that’s why they have played so well this season, and how they are one of the NFL’s best teams.
“I’m just happy to see that they’ve finally taken the next step in terms of being competitive,” Simmons said.
“They have been really consistent and consistent and they have a really good chance to win the AFC East.”
It’s not over yet.
They still have a lot of work to do, but they’re on a trajectory to be one of our top teams in the league.
“They’re going into this season as the top seed in this division and if they keep it going like they have the past two weeks, then they could be one or two teams to beat in the playoffs.”
But this year, they’ve really taken off.
“Simmons says he was “delighted” to see the Pittsburgh Steelers get back into the playoffs after losing a fourth consecutive game.”
We had the opportunity to be in that situation last year,” he said.”
To be honest with you, this year’s game is a bit different than the one we were in last year.
This year, we were able to go out and beat the Falcons and the Colts, two of the worst teams in football.
“This year, the Steelers have a chance to be even better than last year, and we have to go and get that win.
We have to be ready to play when we get there.”
And it’s all about the Steelers.
