Louislawesgasworks, an interactive film created by LSU graduate student and artist Jordan Dickson, uses a team of artists, musicians and photographers to capture life’s most intimate moments.
The film follows Dickson as he traverses Louisiana, where he takes in his hometown of Houma and then returns to his hometown, Baton Rouge, where his friend is killed in a shooting.
Dickson’s goal is to explore what life is like in Louisiana, a place where he and his friends are at the center of it all.
In the film, Dickson visits a park with a group of young women who share stories about their lives, including their families, their jobs, and the people who they meet.
Dressed in a tuxedo and carrying a camera, Dicksis captures the moments as they unfold and he creates a montage of them all, which he then distributes to his social media followers.
He then tells his friends about the work he’s doing and then explains the process behind the work.
After he completes the work, Dacksitingstakes a few minutes to compose a response to the fans that have shared his work, which can be seen in the trailer below.
The LSU grad student has said he wanted to take this film on the road for a month and see how it would evolve.
This summer, Dids works on a documentary about Louisiana in the wake of the shooting.
